Question:

I have a question regarding marriage. Does Islam teach that people are not allowed to get married between the two Eids. I am told that a wedding cannot be done unless you make the engagement before the fasting month.

Answer:

There is nothing in Islam that prohibits performing marriages at any time of the year. The only restrictions pertain to consummating marriages during certain times.

What is your view regarding the re-incarnation belief held by the majority of Hindus?

As Muslims, we do not believe in the re-incarnation. We believe that Allah created Adam and Eve and from them the human race descends generation after generation.

1. You believe in the existance of Allah Ta'ala, but you do not fulfil his commands.

2. You say you love Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu 'alahi wasallam), but you do not follow his sunnah (ie, his example).

3. You read Quran but you do not put it into practice.

4. You enjoy all the benefits from Allah Ta'ala, but you are not grateful to him.

5. You acknowledge Satan as your enemy, but you do not go against him.

Shroud of Turin is a linen cloth 14 feet 3 inches long by 3 feet 7 inches wide, bearing the highly distinct Image of a Crucified Man. Respected scholars, As-Salamu `Alaykum. I have asked this question of many scholars but no one has been able to give me a satisfactory answer. I hope you can clarify it for me.

I know that man has to go through a lot of problems and afflictions throughout his life. Now these sufferings could be a punishment from God or it could be that God wants to test his faith and raise his ranks in the Hereafter. But how can we tell the difference between punishment from God or tests and trials by God?

Some of the major sins or kaba’ir in Islam are as follows:

1. Associating anything with Allah

2. Murder

3. Practicing magic

4. Abandoning salah (ritual Prayer)

5. Not paying zakah

6. Not fasting during the month of Ramadan without excuse

7. Not performing Hajj, while being able to do so

8. Showing disrespect to parents
